Windmill Generator – Too Much Electricity!!

November 25th, 2009 David No comments

It is hard to believe, but some windmill generator projects create too much power!

Imagine that as a problem – creating too much electricity for free!

Well, in Denmark this is a problem, but they have created a fantastic solution to using up all of the power from their windmill generators – Hydrogen Fuel Cells

This is enabling regular people to create Hydrogen for heating on top of free electricity – all from their windmill generator project

It really is amazing how clean and green this technology is and how simple processes can be adapted all from having a windmill generator like this

Windmill Generator – The Whole Building!

November 12th, 2009 David No comments

Just when you think you’ve seen every type of windmill generator – something like this comes along!

It does seems that the windmill generator component may have been more of an afterthought, but if this actually gets built, I’d like to see the generator in action.  The whole building using the wind to generate it’s own power – totally fantastic!

Now the average windmill generator does not need to be built on this scale, but any windmill generator can produce power for you, in fact lots of electricity for free

Some serious recommendations on resources to help you build your own windmill generator are coming into the blog soon, so stay tuned.  In the meantime , enjoy this computer simulation of the windmill generator building!

Windmill Generator – Helix Design

November 7th, 2009 David No comments

Now your average windmill generator does not look like this (see video below). However, whatever the shape of your windmill generator, it’s the power that it creates that is important. Personally, I really like these new windmill generator designs, since they evoke something quite like the shape of DNA strands twisted together. It makes it really easy for me to start saying ‘hippy things’ with a shape like that, but the creation of electricity is the important bit and if this design of windmill generator has anything going for it, it is output!

The average windmill generator relies upon, either a good natural wind position or the use of a tailpiece to direct it into the breeze. Ant windmill generator can work well like this, however the ‘helix’ design claims to focus the wind no matter which direction the wind blows from. It is interesting and I like the windmill generator design just for the sake of looks!

What can I do before building a Windmill Generator?

November 3rd, 2009 David No comments

Everyone can create much of their electricity needs with windmill generator, yet there are things that you can do now, since the world is seeking ways to manage a severe impending energy crisis – so what can you do?

You can act before getting a windmill generator in use – Start by using less power, that’s less Gas and less Electricity

Consuming less Electricity is simple – Switch your electrical goods OFF when you are no longer using them (not you refrigerator or freezer, they need to stay on to work!)

Try to keep your freezer pretty full. Freezer compartments use less power when the food in them is all at the same temperature and with less air in there

On the flip side, try to keep your refrigerator less full. The refrigerator needs more space for air to circulate and so should not piled high in there

Turn electrical items OFF – not on Standby – OFF at the power socket. That way they are not consuming any electricity

What is amazing, is that once these things become habit, you are saving money by consuming less, even before you start generating your own electricity from a windmill generator at home!

Insulate the roof space – this helps to retain more heat inside the house where you want it, rather than be lost through the roof

If you are replacing electrical goods, look for the most energy efficient rated products, that way your windmill generator can contribute to a bigger percentage of your electricity needs. Get plans for a windmill generator – good ones, that are easy to understand and you can build this whilst already consuming less and saving money!

Any Winter is generally a lot colder than the Autumn and is often more windy, so it’s a great time to spend some evenings getting your windmill generator started. The sooner you start, the sooner you will start generating electricity for yourself

Windmill Generators are back with cutting edge technology

November 2nd, 2009 David No comments

Funny how the idea of building your own wind generator for power has come around again!

Let’s face it a windmill is NOT new technology – it’s how we use it that’s slightly different.  In ‘days of old’ we would use the power of the wind to turn sails for direct power, that is to grind cereals or for a belt drive to power simple machinery

Then, the wind and the power of running water was about all we could harness from natural resources.  Then we built the steam engine, fueled by coal and the old technology was put aside for the advanced technology

Fast forward to the present day and we are building wind generators again!  Why?  Because we discovered that burning tons of fossil fuels such as coal and gas creates millions of tons of excess carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.  All of sudden, the wind generator is good news!

Can we make more use of our natural resources such as wind? Between the passage of time and the development of humanity we are slowly beginning to realize how vital our world is.  The benefits of wind power needs to be seen in a broad context

The beauty of a wind generator is that it creates ZERO emissions, even taking account of the materials used and any maintenance over 50 years, it is still almost carbon neutral.  Just look at what it can do!  Produce 1,000s of Watts of electricity over it’s lifetime – all for free

We all love free and even the knowledge to build a suitable domestic wind generator and the materials involved won’t break the bank.  Better still, the payback (the return of money saved versus money spent) is very fast and so you reap the benefits very quickly
